My City of Lights

New York City is my paradise.  Every aspect that overwhelms people about the city takes my breath away; crossing the streets with throngs of people, getting on the subway right before it takes off, the lights that constantly illuminate the city, the honking and impatient drivers, everything is fast-paced and I am enamored by every single aspect of the city.
"If you can't stop thinking about it, don't stop working for it."
I can't stop imagining myself owning a magazine in the beautiful metropolis of New York City so I will not stop working for that dream.  If one day I reach it then I win and if I never do I can at least rest in the fact knowing that I tried my hardest to achieve my wildest dreams and that in itself is reward enough.
Walking all over the city today with my family was a day just short of perfection.  I wore an H&M faux fur coat, maroon blouse from Target, brown booties from Payless, black Forever 21 trousers and a Carhartt beanie.
Enjoy!

Slum Chic

Score 1 for me.  My whole outfit is thrifted; I always feel so accomplished when I put together an outfit and it's all unintentionally thrifted.
So the stereotype for college attire is sweat pants right?  I just can't bring myself to dress like that on the daily so whenever I have the opportunity to wear something comfy but still look fashion forward I jump at it.  Leggings are the perfect replacement for bumming it in sweats everyday, your outfit can still look fab but you don't have to be in stiff jeans.  Is it just me or are jeans the most uncomfortable things ever?  Honestly I really hate wearing them so I don't.
Like I said before my whole outfit, head to toe, is thrifted.
Enjoy!

Quick Change

Well, I think Wednesday was the last time I will be wearing shorts for a good while.  But it's still absolutely beautiful outside and who doesn't love wearing big sweaters.
Honesty hour: this was a very Pinterest inspired outfit.  I was scrolling through yesterday and saw a few pins and I was all like "oh I have that sweater" so I wore it!
The sweater my friend found at a mission thrift in town, the pants are Forever 21 and the shoes are from Macy's.

Borrowed Closets

They say you learn something new everyday.  Today, I learned that if you wake up 30 minutes before class and you suck at doing eyeliner, don't try.  I tried and it looked bad and then it kind of got all over my face and I looked slightly emo.  Makeup is not my thing; just give me a lifetime supply of Clinique mascara and lots of lipstick and I'll be set. Another thing I learned is that I should probably give myself more time to get ready in the morning.  Time management is a struggle.
On a happier note, it's already November and I'm wearing shorts, this is unheard of for me.  Back home by the time October creeps up it's winter coat weather and I'm pretty sure it has snowed a substantial amount already.  I could get used to life in the south.  Maybe.
I think it's safe to say I live on one of the prettiest campuses around.
College is great because when you live with a ton of girls its like you have one giant closet and it's a beautiful thing.  The button up I am wearing is from my roommates closet and the shorts are thrifted.  My creepers are from Necessary Clothing and I have rings on from who knows where.
Enjoy!

The Girl In Black

The color black calls to me like no other in my wardrobe but it can be a real struggle when you find yourself head to toe in black hoping that you don't look like a serial killer.  To keep myself from crossing that line, I make sure there is at least one item of a different color in the outfit to break up the continuity.  Today, it was my belt and the white stripes in my top.
I also fell off of a windowsill during this photo session, very exciting stuff.
Enjoy! xx

Back At It

College life has taken over and it has been amazing, but I have been feeling a pull back to Fashion Frenzy.

Today I embraced my favorite side, my hard core side.  It all started in middle school, I thought I was such a skater girl.  I had the haircut and rocked the arm warmers and skater shoes; little did I know that I would carry a little piece of punkrocker96 through college.
I took a simple white blouse and layered it with a DIY jean vest made from a jean jacket I bought from a garage sale, black pants and amazing thrifted Dr. Martens.  I accessorized with a silver triangle charm necklace and a bevy of silver rings of course.
