My City of Lights

New York City is my paradise.  Every aspect that overwhelms people about the city takes my breath away; crossing the streets with throngs of people, getting on the subway right before it takes off, the lights that constantly illuminate the city, the honking and impatient drivers, everything is fast-paced and I am enamored by every single aspect of the city.
"If you can't stop thinking about it, don't stop working for it."
I can't stop imagining myself owning a magazine in the beautiful metropolis of New York City so I will not stop working for that dream.  If one day I reach it then I win and if I never do I can at least rest in the fact knowing that I tried my hardest to achieve my wildest dreams and that in itself is reward enough.
Walking all over the city today with my family was a day just short of perfection.  I wore an H&M faux fur coat, maroon blouse from Target, brown booties from Payless, black Forever 21 trousers and a Carhartt beanie.
Enjoy!

Slum Chic

Score 1 for me.  My whole outfit is thrifted; I always feel so accomplished when I put together an outfit and it's all unintentionally thrifted.
So the stereotype for college attire is sweat pants right?  I just can't bring myself to dress like that on the daily so whenever I have the opportunity to wear something comfy but still look fashion forward I jump at it.  Leggings are the perfect replacement for bumming it in sweats everyday, your outfit can still look fab but you don't have to be in stiff jeans.  Is it just me or are jeans the most uncomfortable things ever?  Honestly I really hate wearing them so I don't.
Like I said before my whole outfit, head to toe, is thrifted.
Enjoy!

Quick Change

Well, I think Wednesday was the last time I will be wearing shorts for a good while.  But it's still absolutely beautiful outside and who doesn't love wearing big sweaters.
Honesty hour: this was a very Pinterest inspired outfit.  I was scrolling through yesterday and saw a few pins and I was all like "oh I have that sweater" so I wore it!
The sweater my friend found at a mission thrift in town, the pants are Forever 21 and the shoes are from Macy's.

Borrowed Closets

They say you learn something new everyday.  Today, I learned that if you wake up 30 minutes before class and you suck at doing eyeliner, don't try.  I tried and it looked bad and then it kind of got all over my face and I looked slightly emo.  Makeup is not my thing; just give me a lifetime supply of Clinique mascara and lots of lipstick and I'll be set. Another thing I learned is that I should probably give myself more time to get ready in the morning.  Time management is a struggle.
On a happier note, it's already November and I'm wearing shorts, this is unheard of for me.  Back home by the time October creeps up it's winter coat weather and I'm pretty sure it has snowed a substantial amount already.  I could get used to life in the south.  Maybe.
I think it's safe to say I live on one of the prettiest campuses around.
College is great because when you live with a ton of girls its like you have one giant closet and it's a beautiful thing.  The button up I am wearing is from my roommates closet and the shorts are thrifted.  My creepers are from Necessary Clothing and I have rings on from who knows where.
Enjoy!

The Girl In Black

The color black calls to me like no other in my wardrobe but it can be a real struggle when you find yourself head to toe in black hoping that you don't look like a serial killer.  To keep myself from crossing that line, I make sure there is at least one item of a different color in the outfit to break up the continuity.  Today, it was my belt and the white stripes in my top.
I also fell off of a windowsill during this photo session, very exciting stuff.
Enjoy! xx

Back At It

College life has taken over and it has been amazing, but I have been feeling a pull back to Fashion Frenzy.

Today I embraced my favorite side, my hard core side.  It all started in middle school, I thought I was such a skater girl.  I had the haircut and rocked the arm warmers and skater shoes; little did I know that I would carry a little piece of punkrocker96 through college.
I took a simple white blouse and layered it with a DIY jean vest made from a jean jacket I bought from a garage sale, black pants and amazing thrifted Dr. Martens.  I accessorized with a silver triangle charm necklace and a bevy of silver rings of course.

Countdown

My favorite thing about fashion is that you can take something so small and completely transform a piece of clothing.  It's mind-blowing and exciting and fun because it makes working with what you got ten times easier.  Accessories are always worth the investment because you can have a mediocre wardrobe but with fab accessories, your look is completed.
Today I wore a simple tank dress with a gold belt and black sandals with a little pop of color in a red cross body.

The Girl with 2 Red Shoes

The key to having a perfect wardrobe is starting with a good foundation i.e. basics.  This outfit encapsulates some basics that are necessary in a closet: a simple white/cream tee, dark wash skinnies and Converse.  Everything has to start somewhere so why not start at the easiest part, essentials?

Mundane Monday's

Monday's-the epitome of a bad day.  After work, I realized much to my chagrin, that I didn't have any plans. Yikes.  Instead of pacing around my house and binging on Gossip Girl, I decided to make the most of my quiet night at home.  I worked out, showered and will soon be indulging in some much loved chick-lit, giving myself a pedicure and doing a little DIY along with a great Spotify playlist.  So many times I let myself get carried away with self-doubt when I have nights like these but I realized that does so much more harm than good.  What I really need to start doing is using these days to my advantage, like a personal health night because they can be ridiculously necessary.  So here is to my summer  night at home and if you're on the same team as me tonight, embrace it because, well what else are you gonna do?

Today I wore a thrifted top & skirt and Target cut-out booties.

Girl Scout

This week I was thrust into nature for a camping trip with the fam. Tents, bugs & all, but I absolutely love it. As girly as I can be, nothing beats the annual family camping trip. Given my location and leisurely week, my clothes have been far from blog worthy. However, today we met my grandparents for lunch and visited my great-grandfather and grandfather's childhood homes and I was able to fancy it up a smidge.  I'm loving my new Ecoté top from Urban Outfitters which I picked out with my best friend for an early birthday gift. The little braided rope that ties around my neck is super cute and I love the slight tye-dye pattern. I paired it with thrifted high waisted black shorts and converse to top it off. Sorry for the lack of posting this week!

Loco Boho

Today was kind of a wild day.  I got wicked lost on my way to visit my best friend, I literally drove around in circles for like half an hour but I made it & it's Friday, praise.  I embraced my hippy side by wearing a vintage Oilily sweater dress/tunic, thrifted brown flats and accessorized with silver jewelry.

Fashion Frenzy

Well, surprise I changed the name.  I was talking with some people and it seemed like a great idea! So say hello to Fashion Frenzy.
I read an article today about Instagram kind of ruining the fashion world on http://www.whowhatwear.com/ and I couldn't agree more.  People have sucked the fashion out of fashion it's all about who has the most followers and the most expensive clothes.  Fashion is so much to some people, at least to me it is.  You know how you love something so much you just want to show it off, like your boyfriend?  Well that's how I am about fashion.  I want people to see my blog not to become famous but because I love it & I want to share my love with the world.  So I hope you all can come alongside me and help show the world how much I love & cherish fashion.

Finish It

Today's outfit was nice and breezy because it has been quite toasty lately. Not that I'm complaining because I love summer it just takes extra consideration when dressing for the day.
Just like palazzo pants, harem pants are a perfect summer pant. They are breezy but structured and look great and honestly anyone!
Harem pants & sandals are from Marshall's
Top is from Salvation Army
Rings are assorted

Losing It

Would you like to hear a funny story? Well I lost my fave necklace, it spelled out my name, very LC from The Hills.
My parents got if for me last Christmas and I wore it all the time.
My friend proceeded to locate my loved necklace and in between leaving her house and getting into my car, a very short distance mind you, I lost it again.  And now I don't know what to do. So yes that is me, forgetful and sorrowful maybe a little dramatic too & if anyone would like to gift me with a new necklace with my name on it, please not I would not be opposed.
On a brighter note, Monday is already over and we are moving on to Tuesday. Today I wore a thrifted Gap chambray shirt, high waisted Forever 21 trousers & salmon Payless pumps.  I accessorized with a gold Forever 21 necklace, vintage snakeskin clutch, Charlotte Russe sunglasses and assorted rings.
