luv your earthly dwelling

EARTH DAY
to be honest i didn't do anything special today but that's ok.  i love the earth so much, it is beautiful beyond words and was breathed into creation by our amazing God.  here's a fun thought to dwell on: the power that God has, the power that He used to create the earth, is inside of us because of the Holy Spirit.  we have the power of the creator inside of us, the question is what are we going to do with it?

i hope you all were more hippie than i was today, maybe take a fast and cold shower, or planting a tree.
good stuff like that.
just remember that we are privileged to reside on this planet that operates perfectly without our thinking.  every sunrise and sunset is different...every single day we are amazed by what is around us.  don't take that for granted, cherish this beautiful place.

today i shot in the woods because earth day!  we found this cool little side road/walking path in a neighborhood and had some fun.  i wore a tank jean shirt, black pants and brown lace-up boots.  i accessorized with a few necklaces, one being a great choker i found at a thrift store back home.

enjoy

chill bro

three weeks and counting until freedom.  summer is calling my name and i can't wait to respond to it. finals are peeking their nasty little heads around the corner and i am so not in the mood for that stress, nevertheless they are coming whether i like it or not.  today was a great day to relieve that stress by sleeping in super late, seeing a sappy movie, trying to catch a cat and exploring with some of my best pals.  sometimes a quiet saturday with your closest people is the best medicine.

i wore red BDG high-waisted shorts, a gray open-back tee from Forever 21 and brown sandals from TJ Maxx.  perfect outfit for those weird it's hot out but kind of chilly days.
soak in the beautiful scenery that is north georgia.

excuse the towel rack

gloomy day round 3,546
but hey, i don't let it get me down because nobody has time for the weather to dictate their mood. amiright?

today was a simple thursday, busy thursday, good thursday. my mother dearest sent me my last care package for the semester which is slightly bittesweet.  it had coffee (bae), a super cool vintage mug that looks like it is straight from the 70s, and a package of toothbrushes because, you know, life.

i wore a sheer white button-up with a simple black camisole underneath, blue jeans rolled a little at the ankle, an army green jacket, tan and gold flats accented with gold rings, a maroon watch and a simple gold bar necklace and my hair was in a nice-and-easy bun.
happy almost friday! one day closer to the sanity that weekends bring! praise.

the girl and the sea

i wish that on rainy days society would gather together and agree to cancel everything, i'm pretty confident that everyone would be ok with that decision, yeah?

rainy day essentials:
^iced coffee
^comfy bed
^Josh Garrels
^comfy clothes

i made this iced coffee a few days ago and let's just say i could drink it constantly for the rest of time.  it took 24 hours to make and a ridiculous amount of coffee grounds but it's so strong and delicious.

thankfully my school has super comfortable mattresses which was a pleasant surprise, i was convinced i was going to have to sleep on a brick for 9 months but, thankfully, i was proven wrong.

Josh Garrels is an artist i was recently introduced to and his voice is so soothing and his words bring so much peace.

since i can basically can swim to class because it has been raining so much, i felt it appropriate to be swimming in my clothes.  there is something so comfortable about overly sized shirts, it's like i'm wearing nothing but obviously i am--what a beautiful contradiction.  so a big shout out to whatever old man or woman owned this shirt before me because it's great.  to trudge through the puddles i wore black Chelsea boots but they are rain boots from Meijer.  for those who are from the north you know Meijer and who would have thought that they would have such perfect rain boots?  and to keep the comfy vibe going i wore leggings because no matter what anyone says leggings can be pants and they are probably the most comfortable thing you will ever wear

p.s. don't trust anyone that says you can't wear black and blue together because last time i checked you can do whatever you want

no fire can burn without attention.

simplicity can be entangling & it can be freeing. nevertheless, mediocrity should not be our desire
we were made for so much more than letting our passion peter out. feed your passion, stimulate it, challenge it, immerse yourself in it.

"if you are not crazy, i mean completely crazy about what you love, then i beg you, either find a way to be insanely crazy about it or throw it away. you were not born with half an ass, human, therefore you have no right to half-ass the intensity in which you love."                            christopher poindexter

i have let myself become trapped in the easiness of everyday routine. i need to remind myself daily to challenge what i love so that it can grow into a reality.

keep
that
desire
alive

today i felt the grunge.  i offset the feminine silhouette of the baby-doll dress from H&M with harder accessories that included a spike silver necklace, miscellaneous silver rings, red lipstick and vintage Doc Martens.
